For each scenario below, choose the most appropriate answer from the list above. Each option may be used once, more than once or not at all.
1. A 34 year old woman complains of a mild rash after going out for dinner with her work friends. She has had this rash multiple times and it has never really bothered her, although she is starting to worry about why it keeps appearing. You examine her and confirm the rash.
2. A 12 year old boy is admitted to A&E after his friend offered him a chocolate bar during recess. On examination, he has swollen lips, an urticarial rash and is hypotensive.
3. A 26 year old banker is going through a particularly stressful couple of months. He now has a 3 hour history of swelling of the face and tongue. The doctors have said that he has low ‘C4’, but he is not sure what that means.
4. A 30 year old female comes to clinic with a 5 week history of itchy, red wheals around her neck. She cannot remember how it started. She says that it all began around the time she won the lottery and went on a shopping spree for new clothes, fragrances, and accessories.
5. A 14 year old girl is admitted to A&E whilst on vacation with her family in Canada. They were about to go skiing when the girl became increasingly breathless and began to make ‘wheezy’ sounds.
