1. A 40 year old man presents with polyarthropathy and carpal tunnel syndrome. He is noted to have a kyphosis.
2. A 56 year old lady presents to her GP complaining of rapid weight gain, particularly around the face and trunk, and easy bruising. She is sent for a dexamethasone test. Result; no change in cortisol on low dose but inhibition of cortisol on high dose.
3. A 49 year old Haitian man presents with skin hyperpigmentation and muscle weakness. He had an operation in Haiti 6 months ago before moving to the UK but cannot explain why.
4. A 17 year old boy presents with gynecomastia. Blood tests show a low serum testosterone level but high FSH and LH levels.
5. Sodium; 129 mmol/L, urine sodium 39 mmol/l, urine osmolality 407 mmol/kg and plasma osmolality 270 mmol/kg. All other results normal.
