1. A 62 year old man presents to the G.P complaining of intermittent severe epigastric pain. He is a known alcoholic. He has also been steadily losing weight due to a loss of appetite from the pain.

 

2. A 7 year old boy has a 2 week history of polyuria, polydipsia and excessive weight loss. On urine dipstick, glucose is positive.

 

3.  A 51 year old lady with a BMI of 29 presents to A+E complaining of nausea and vomiting with severe, rapid onset upper epigastric pain. On examination she is pyrexic and tender in the epigastric region with no other systemic signs.

 

4.  A 78 year old male smoker presents to the GP complaining of looking yellow, getting worse over a 3 month duration. On examination, he is jaundiced with no tenderness but a positive Courvoisier’s sign.

 

5. A 41 year old lady presents with epigastric pain, worse at night and when she is hungry. She also complains of heartburn symptoms. On investigation, her gastrin level is elevated.
