2. A 54 year old lady presents with 4 week history of persistent fever despite 2 different antibiotic courses which she claims she has taken fully. Examination reveals mild pyrexia, diffuse lymphadenopathy, you note she has visited your colleague previously complaining of night sweats.

3. A young girl is brought into your practice by her mother who is concerned about her little girls on-going fever. She also says that she is complaining of “aches all over” and has observed her to be far less energetic than normal. They are of Turkish descent and have just recently returned from a holiday there where they stayed with family members on a farm.

4. A previously fit and healthy expedition leader presents himself to you complaining of an acute case of right sided facial palsy. He has a history of fever, muscle aches and headache. He says the symptoms started after a particularly difficult expedition he led through overgrown forests in the US and had noticed some “funny circular marks” on his arms previously.

5. A man presents to you with a history of fever and one sided back pain and weight loss. He tells you he has had this for a few months now but recently has been experiencing headaches, blurred vision and funny bruises and bleeding from his gums when he brushes.
