1.    A 30 year old man presents fever, dry cough and dyspnoea. The chest radiograph shows diffuse bilateral alveolar and interstitial shadowing spreading outwards from the peri-hilar region. He has a history of Kaposi ’s sarcoma.

 

 

2.    A 50 year old alcoholic man is brought in to A&E with haemoptysis, a cough productive of mucoid sputum. Chest radiograph shows right upper lobe consolidation with a central cavity. The Heaf test was positive.

 

 

3.    A 70 year old man presents with dyspnoea and a cough. A radiograph shows pulmonary fibrosis with bilateral pleural thickening and calcification.

 

 

4.    An 8 year old boy with cystic fibrosis presents with pneumonia.

 

 

5.    A 26 year old women is brought in to A&E following an RTA. She has decreased breath sounds on the right, with decreased resonance and expansion on this side. Her blood pressure is low and her skin is pale, cool and clammy. The trachea is deviated to the left.
