1. A 5 year old boy presents with recurrent chest infections and several skin abscesses. On further investigation, neutrophil count is normal, however NBT and DHR tests are both abnormal.
2. A 22 year old woman attends her GP complaining that she cut her right foot without realising and now it has become infected. She admits to being tired all the time and her GP thinks she looks pale. Her blood results show Hb 7.5, MCV 118, Folate normal, Vit B12 extremely low.
3. A 20 year old woman has become tired all the time and is now increasingly breathless. Her blood results show Hb 6.0, MCV 105, increased reticulocytes, increased serum bilirubin and LDH. Direct coomb’s test was positive.
4. A 26 year old woman presents with a white plaque at the back of her throat. She also describes fatigue and feeling dizzy upon standing. When blood pressure was measured her hand went into spasm.
5. A 3 year old boy with abnormal facies and a history of cardiac surgery presents with a fever. On examination, Chvostek’s sign is positive.
