1. A 22-year-old male presents with painful ulcers on his penis. 2 weeks prior to presentation he has had unprotected sexual intercourse. Examination reveals ulcerated, painless nodules on the penis shaft.
2. A 45-year-old male presents with a 5-day history of a burning sensation on passing urine and increased frequency of micturition. In addition he has a white discharge per urethra. Gram staining of the discharge does not reveal any gram-negative cocci.
3. A 37-year-old male presents with an ulcer on his penis. He gives a 3-week history of unprotected sexual intercourse prior to presentation. On examination, there is a painless, indurated ulcer on the glans and localized lymphadenopathy.
4. A 33-year-old male presents with ulceration of his penis. He gives a one-week history of unprotected sexual intercourse prior to presentation. On examination he is noted to have multiple ulcers on his prepuce and frenulum. The ulcers are necrotic and have a ragged edge; they are painful and bleed easily. There is unilateral inguinal lymphadenopathy.
5. A 26-year-old male presents with severe pain and a burning sensation on micturition. 2 weeks prior to presentation he has had unprotected sexual intercourse. On examination he is noted to have a purulent discharge per urethra. Gram stain reveals gram-negative diplococcic.
