1. A 14 year old boy presents with pain and swelling in the right thigh. Bone biopsy shows small round blue tumour cells.
2. A 3 year old girl presents with a broken arm. Her father says he doesn't know what happened, but he thinks she fell in the playground. She has been admitted with fractures before. On examination, her sclera appear bluish in colour.
3. A 65 year old man of African American origin presents with back pain. He has also recently begun experiencing symptoms of renal failure. Blood tests show a normocytic, normochromic anaemia, and a raised ESR. Urinary analysis shows the presence of Bence Jones protein.
4. A 72 year old woman presents with bone pain and a wrist fracture. On examination you notice an active AV fistula on the other wrist. Blood tests show low calcium, high phosphate and high PTH.
5. A 40 year old woman presents with bone pain. Her past medical history includes right arm fracture, renal stones, and recurrent depression. Blood tests reveal high calcium, low phosphate and high PTH.
