For each scenario below, choose the most appropriate answer from the list above. Each option may be used once, more than once or not at all.

1. A young man with a serious amoxycillin allergy is rushed to A+E wearing sunglasses. He also has an acute headache, rash and fever.

2. A 30 year-old patient undergoing prolonged antibiotic treatment visits her GP wearing her Burberry visor. She complains that her six children are the cause of her hearing difficulties, however, on referral she is found to have a sensorineural deafness.

3. A pious woman returns from her honeymoon and visits her GP complaining of smelly urine which is mildly painful when passing.

4. On a ward round, you see a backpacker who has recently returned from discovering himself on a cooking course in a rural village on the banks of the Zambezi river. He has bloody diarrhoea. The lab confirms that his symptoms are caused by a gram negative bacteria, possibly shigella.

5. An understudy to Alan Titchmarsh cuts himself while filming for Gardeners World and forgets to wash his skin afterwards. When he presents to you, his cut has become lightly infected with a gram positive organism. His tetanus booster is up to date.
