For each scenario below, choose the most appropriate answer from the list above. Each option may be used once, more than once or not at all.
1. Wayne is a 35-year-old gentleman who was involved in a rather nasty RTA, for which he had to receive a blood transfusion. Just one short week later, he is in the pub with his brother Shane when he develops fever, a dry cough and becomes increasingly short of breath.
2. Tracey is a 40-year-old lady, who develops shortness of breath, hypotension and laryngeal oedema as she is about to light a cigarette outside Charing Cross hospital. She has just received a blood transfusion.
3. Kevin has just had a blood transfusion and he is suddenly overcome with chest pain, facial flushing, and a feeling of oppression. He starts to vomit. Of note he has haemoglobinuria.
4. Karley has just given birth to a delightful baby boy, but unfortunately there were some complications during labour. She had to have a caesarean section, for which required a blood transfusion. Several days later, she is out of hospital but is perturbed by the red/purple spots on her legs.
5. A week after a transfusion, Dave is not pleased to see that he has turned yellow. He feels unwell, and begins to develop a fever. Tests reveal that is haemoglobin has fallen to 8g/dL.
