old anxious woman presents with excessive thirst, complaining that she
has to “drink all the time” but is still permanently thirsty. Her urine osmolality
is 75 mosm/L and plasma osmalality
is 305 mosm/L.
4. A 60 year old Asian gentleman
presents to his GP with nocturia, polyuria
and polydipsia.
Fasting glucose is 7.2 mmol/L and 2 hours
after an OGTT the plasma glucose is 11.5 mmol/L.
