Neurological Examination of the Leg 9a: Abnormal Plantar Response

Babinski Response:

  • Stroke the lateral aspect of the sole of each foot with an orange stick.
  • Extension of the big toe with fanning of the other toes is abnormal. This is referred to as a positive Babinski.
